Why is tyre pressure important?

A tyre is incapable of performing as it should be without air pressure:

  1. Correct air pressure in a tyre supports the distribution of the weight of your vehicle evenly across the tyre's tread pattern, so that the tyre and the vehicle itself is at its most stable.
  2. When a tyre is over or under-inflated, it loses stability, negatively affecting handling, cornering and stopping as well as reduces the life of the tyre.
  3. Under-inflated or over- inflated tyres cause different types of wear, however an under-inflated tyre could increase tyre failure or blowout, due to the tyre casing enduring the vehicles weight without the support of air pressure.
