DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX TT COMES OUT TOPS IN GERMAN TEST

ADAC, the largest German and European Automobile Club with over 16 million members, has given the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT the thumbs up in their 2010 Summer Tyre Test.
The tests are held yearly by the association, which enjoys recognition from consumers and automobile enthusiasts alike, as an authority on high performance automobiles as well as their accessories and tyres. Both Winter and Summer Tyre tests are performed to assess tyre performance in the relevant weather conditions. This year, 36 tyres across a selection of tyre brands were tested in two categories in the ADAC Summer Tyres test plan – 185/65 R 15 in the smaller tyre category, and 225/45 R 17 in the larger category.
Test criteria included tyre handling in wet and dry summer conditions, noise and comfort, impact on fuel consumption, and tyre wear. The ability of the tyre to perform in wet condition carried the greatest weight in the test – a point on which most tested tyres either performed poorly, or failed. Tyres were then scored in 4 categories: highly recommended, recommended, moderately recommended and not recommended. This year, 17 tyres across a selection of brands, including the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT were tested in the large tyre category, 225/45 R 17 with speed indexes that are capable of reaching up to 300kph
ADAC described the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT as a “Very balanced summer tyre, performing particularly well in wet conditions and well on dry roads”. Under the wet conditions test criteria, the tyre also scored well on brakes and handling, making it a smart all round high performance summer tyre choice.
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT was voted in the top 5 ‘highly recommended’ in its Summer Tyre category, and had the top speed index of 300kph in the category.
